High-strength rolled plates 

High-strength Aluminium Rolled Plates are often used for applications where the strength of Aluminium Cast Plates is (supposedly) not sufficient.

For thinner rolled plates this is absolutely correct but for plates with an increasing thickness it has to be considered that due to the mechanical processing during the production of rolled material, a loss of strength from the plate border in direction to the center arises.

This effects that in core areas of the plate the strength values of rolled material is lower then of aluminium cast material (depending on the thickness).
