Aluminum is our passion. And our knowledge! Benefit from our knowledge.
Many information can be found in aluminum-manual, which is being completely revised and will soon be available. In the meantime, please use our glossary for useful word explanations.
- Inert gases
Inert gases, with extremely low reactivity with other substances. Used in furnace filling to avoid reaction of melt with oxygen.
Substance which slows, inhibits or prevents the reactions of chemical, biological or physiological nature.
Also referred to as heterogeneity, describes the lack of uniformity of elements of a mass with respect to one or more characteristics.
- Intermetallic phase
Homogeneous chemical compound made of two or more metals with heavily modified grid structures when compared to those of alloys.
- Internal stresses
Tensions present in the metal that arise from forming and/or heat treatment.
