In the super-fast train Hyperloop people should travel at near sound speed. To drive this vision, SpaceX founder Elon Musk has announced the “Hyperloop Pod Competition”.
GLEICH Aluminium is out to set records
Student teams from all over the world compete against each other with their prototypes of the passenger capsule, the so-called pod. Already twice, the capsule of the WARR Hyperloop Teams was by far the fastest. Now the students of the Technical University of Munich unveiled their third pod, which will drive on the test track on July 22nd, 2018 in Los Angeles. It is the goal to become the fastest team again this year, coming a little closer from the vision to reality. We call that the future!
It is already the second version of the Munich high-speed capsule in which GLEICH Aluminum participates with material and know-how. That happens for good reason. Aluminum is a material that will play an increasingly important role in many applications in the future. This is probably all agreed. A prerequisite for development, as in the Hyperloop project, is the permanent high quality of the metal. So it is not surprising that the material aluminum has been optimized to the limit even in standard alloys for decades, even at the home of GLEICH Aluminium. Special products such as Dynamic or Elox-Plus are trailblazing pioneers on the world market. All the insights from these developments and partnerships flow into highly automated production every day. In the end, every customer benefits from the GLEICH Aluminum and with ease. Reproducible high quality, fast availability and reasonable prices are criteria for a transport system of tomorrow as well as for the aluminum of today.
